What is Wing Chun?
Wing Chun is a principle-based martial art that applies simplicity and effeciency to combat. Around 300 years old, Wing Chun is named after one of its first students (a female), Yim Wing Chun.
How is Wing Chun different from other arts?
Wing Chun is a principle based system rather than technique based. A principle based system uses the basic intention of the practitioner as the driving force behind movement. Therefore allowing flexibility to respond to any situation in a variety of manners rather than a rigid set of techniques. The best way of offense and defense is to be direct. Wing Chun uses this principle to eliminate unnecessary movements allowing for efficiency in combat.
Will I be allowed to participate in a class to see if Wing Chun is right for me?
It is recommended that every prospective student participate in a class before making the decision to join. This school has a standing offer of two free classes to any person interested in studying Wing Chun. |
